The Royal Docks Team is a multi-disciplinary team that brings together officers from across the Greater London Authority, the London Borough of Newham and the London Economic Action Partnership. The team is helping deliver the cohesive transformation of the Royal Docks into a vibrant, mixed-use destination with culture and community at it's heart.

The OAPF process started with an intensive period of conversations, engagement and debate that took place from July – October 2019. To ensure the OAPF reflects local needs, this engagement sought to involve a broad cross section of the community to gather ideas, aspirations, challenges and opportunities.

A second round of engagement around the Draft Vision and Principles took place in Autumn 2020. The results of this round form the basis of the Royal Docks and Beckton Riverside OAPF consultation draft. Through pop-up events, community sessions, one to one meetings, youth sessions and our online website, we engaged with communities and gathered feedback on the Vision and Principles, ensuring that the Royal Docks becomes: a lively, healthy place, a connected resilient place, an enabled innovative place and an empowered diverse place.

As a result of feedback from our previous rounds of engagement, we have now progressed the OAPF to the final stage for consultation. We have worked hard to put forward an updated vision, high - level spatial strategies and actions for the Royal Docks, and seven key places. We have also included a delivery strategy. Feedback received at this stage will inform the final adoption of the draft OAPF.

Following the formal consultation, the OAPF with final revisions will be adopted as London Plan Guidance (LPG) in summer/ autumn 2022.
